WOD- 1RM Clean & Jerk
I had an idea in mind of where I was going to go today, but I wanted to see how the big weights felt and where my form was breaking down once I got up toward a max.
I warmed up with 135 for several reps to drill the split jerk landing.. Then we went up progressively to 165, 185, 205, 225.. The 225 was a little shaky when I stuck it overhead but I felt good so I decided I had to give it a go at a PR.. Low and behold, I stuck the 235.. Awesome feeling, I was super pumped about this..
Just for shits I tried 240 even though I was pretty sure I blew my load on the previous effort.. I power cleaned the 240 and had no juice to get it overhead, I wasn't even really close..
Food of the day-
5am - Coconut Lara Bar, coffee (PS in case anyone cares, I always take my coffee black)
9am - Eggs, Bacon
Noon - Salad with romaine, spinach, red pepper, carrot, celery, a little feta and dried cranberries, olive oil, hard boiled egg.
5PM - Smoothie with coconut milk, banana, coconut butter (delicious if you have not tried it), whey
830 PM- Eggs over easy with guacamole, sweet potato mash
Too many eggs today, I should probably go food shopping tomorrow when I have time.. I am planning on making Paleo Crab Cakes tomorrow night after coaching.
