Sunday March 4th

First day of marathon training..

WOD1 -
20 Minute AMRAP (with my buddy Eric)
1 person is running a 200m with a 40lb sandbag while the other works.. switch upon return from the run..

I did the following as my "indoor movements"
1 Muscle Up
15 Wall Ball
3 Push Jerk 145#
3 Tire Flips

I think I did the run about 5 or 6 times and got through the movement pattern 5 ish times.. didn't fail any muscle ups which was great.. I have not programmed those in a long while. The rest of the movements I just went through smoothly, nothing crazy fast, just kept on going.

Rest 3 hours

WOD2- "Training Run"

For my first run I decided to do 8 miles with the following plan:
Run a mile at a 9ish minute/mile pace, then walk exactly a minute.. and repeat..

I worked on my cadence a lot and trying to land on my mid-sole..

This was really different than CrossFit, because frankly, there is no intensity.. It isn't "hard".. It just sort of "sucks".. its two different worlds..

I was able to finish the whole thing and did not feel too terrible afterward.. just dehydrated and grossly sweaty.. Next sunday.. 10 miles.. yee-haw!

I want to work up to outdoor running, but I think running on the treadmill for now will be better for me to learn pacing, cadence and consistency.. When I get outside I tend to "run fast" when I feel fresh.. and then slow down as it goes along.. I want to learn to "run slow" out of the gate, and just keep it for hours on end..

This will be a very interesting experiment, because its totally outside my comfort zone.. but something I have always wanted to prove I was capable of.
