Long Run Day
My goal was to run to my grandmothers house in Needham, sit and visit for a couple minutes, eat a banana, grab some water, and run home..
Total GPS distance to Needham is 5.8 miles, so I was in for about 11.6 all told.. Which is about what I should be at for right now. (sorta).
This was my best run so far by a long margin. I stayed my pace, didn't push it on the first half and felt excellent when I arrived in Needham, almost hadn't even broken a sweat and wasn't feeling that "soreness" yet.
Stayed longer than intended (you know how family gets), but got back on the road for the trek back.. I am pretty sure I ran slower on the way home, but it felt a hell of a lot faster.. I think because I knew the route and checkpoints a lot better after doing it once..
I stopped a couple times to wait for traffic signals and walked 2 hills that were a super steep gradient just to save my joints, but overall this was fun, with the right playlist.
Stiffened up pretty badly when I got home, I almost couldn't do enough stretching, it was gonna happen regardless.. I iced a bit, and am now currently waiting for SELECTION SUNDAY..
WOOOOOO LOVE THE MARCH MADNESS TOURNEY..
