Saturday March 3rd

Felt better this morning.. Still a little stuffy.. but this WOD would not be about my ability to breathe, pure strength is the name of the game, so I decided to give it a whirl..

This is the first WOD in a while that I pretty much knew my score going into it, I just needed to "do it"..

75 lbs is no problem..
135 lbs at 30 reps is "Isabelle" which I have gutted through before in about 5:40.. and 165 is about 20 lbs above my last 1RM snatch PR.. so I basically knew I was in for 60 barring a miracle..

My plan was to get the first 30 done in 2 minutes, change weights, replicate my last Isabelle as best as possible and have 1 true attempt at 165 with some time remaining..

I basically hit the plan on the head and had 90 seconds left after my 30th rep at 135 (which was ugly).. I changed the weights up.. took a minute to relax.. and went for broke.. I got it to about eye level but had NO SPEED whatsoever left in me to get down below the weight.. the previous 60 reps undid any possibility of getting the 165 up there.. Oh well..

Like I said, I knew what I was in for before this even got going.. Just had to get it done for the CFGs..

So I am now pretty much out of the running to even make regionals, so now I can relax and enjoy the next 3 open WODs for exactly what they are.. a fun challenge, nothing more, nothing less..

Complete and utter side note:

I posted on the FCF site about that Boston Marathon free bib # offer, and I decided to take the BBBS group up on the offer and am going to try to finish. Patricia will be running as well for FCF.. I was under the impression they had like a bunch of spots open, which was why I posted it publically, but I guess they only had 2..

I am obviously behind the 8 ball on training and will never in a million years be prepared to do "well" at this. But it is a challenge I have always wanted to try and see if I could just "finish".. Not trying to do it in under 4 hours, or even 5 hours.. I just want to complete it.. That's it.

I'll be logging my training runs here as well as my normal CF workouts for the next 6 weeks.
