This was a weird WOD in terms of the planning.. which I tend to do with longer AMRAPs cuz I overanalyze the crap out of everything. I just wanted to do "2 minutes per round" which seemed very possible.. but as time went by the T2B got so painfully slow that I had to rush the other stuff and it just got to be a struggle..
My first two rounds went basically exactly to plan.. took the box jumps sort of easy to save my legs a big and broke up the barbell work into 7 & 5 from the get go because I thought that 12 in a row would burn me out for later.. I was able to do the first couple with unbroken T2B.. but when those went, good lord did they go. I could barely do 2 in a row by round 5 and the rest of the way in.
By the end I was rebounding every box jumps as fast as possible and pushing the limits on the barbell just so I could get back on the bar for T2B and a big pile of shit sandwich..
I seriously could have had like 10 on this if I put any practice into those things.. The BJ and barbell ended up being easier than I anticipated, and the T2B about 100x worse.. Oh well live and learn..
Notes from this Open so far on my glaring errors:
- Get a heavier snatch, you pussy.
- Go hard from the start on long AMRAPs, your wind is fine.
- Learn gymnastics-y movements like T2B and butterfly pull ups, you donkey.
Despite my bitching, I actually am really happy with this WOD as it was the first real CrossFit WOD we have done to this point, which I appreciated.. Felt like old times.. None of this single modality boredom shit.
